10inch Or A 12inch Mattress Depending On Your Sleeping Position?

Is there a difference between a 10-inch mattress and a 12-inch mattress? You may think that there isn't much of a difference because, I mean it's only a 2-inch difference, surely not much of a change can come from that right..... Well, you'll find out whether there is a difference or not during this blog.

When buying a mattress you have to take into consideration somethings such as your favourite/preferred sleeping positions, your actual sleeping position, what firm or soft you want a mattress, your body type and weight, your beds height, what type of mattress you want, you have to take it what is best for your body and whether you have any pressure points or pains that you need to think about before purchasing a mattress, your sleeping arrangements there's a lot more to think about when buying a mattress than one would have thought.

These are all factors that can influence how thick your mattress should be or how thick you would want your mattress to be. One factor that can influence the mattress thickness is your sleeping position.

  • Stomach sleeper: if you are a stomach sleeper there is a lot of pressure that is placed on your spine, so a thick, firm mattress is ideal for you, at least a 10-inch mattress is recommended for this sleeping position.
  • Back sleeper: if you sleep on your back you will benefit most from a mattress type that will keep your spine in a neutral position, where there isn’t too much pressure put on your spine, a 10 – 12 ich mattress can maintain this alignment.
  • Side sleeper: being a side sleeper means that there is a lot of pressure put on your spine as you sleep so sleeping with a thicker, firmer mattress type may prove to be beneficial for you and your spine, your mattress should be at least 10 inches if you are a side sleeper.
