What is a hybrid mattress?

A hybrid mattress is a mattress that has multiple layers. This mattress blends together memory foam, latex, gel along side the classic innerspring structure. This allows the sleeper to encounter both pressure relief from the foam layers and the durable feel of the traditional innerspring mattress.

How is the hybrid made?

The hybrid mattress is made up of three equal layers, that enable you to experience the perfect mattress for your needs, whether you prefer a firmer or softer mattress. Typically, all hybrid mattresses consist of the same three layers, which are the comfort layer, the support layer and lastly the protective padding layer.

The first layer is the most comfortable layer and provides the most ease and relaxation this is because its placed right at the top. This layer is made up of plush materials such as memory foam, latex, and the gel. This layer is generally around 3-4 inches in thickness, but this can vary depending on where you purchase the mattress, this thickness level is designed to provide the most comfort and relaxation possible to the sleeping individual. These layers aren’t only contouring to the shape of your body they are also provide additional support to correct the placement of the spine. The support layer or the second layer if you would prefer is the layer that is made up of the innerspring coils that are placed across the centre of the mattress, they are 7-8 inches in thickness. This layer reinforces the main area of the mattress and helps your spine alignment. The last and final layer is made up of an exceptionally delicate piece of memory foam that is around about 2 inches in thickness. This layer is added to protect the mattress and keep it luxe with additional padding.

There are three different types of the hybrid mattress and these include:

The pocket sprung memory foam mattress and the innerspring memory foam mattress-The pocket sprung mattresses are a common choice this is because they provide a supportive construct that correctly aligns your entire body and just your spine. It also offers you the best sleep as it stops you from experiencing motion transfer, continuous firmness of the mattress and most importantly allows you pressure relief. On the other hand, if you prefer a plusher mattress the memory foam mattress is a great choice as it allows you to sink right into your mattress and gives of the feeling of being embraced. The innerspring is the oldest style of the mattress and is a classic. The springs in the mattress give you enough support and the materials are breathable and cooling to allow the best night’s sleep.

Pocket sprung cooling gel mattress and the innerspring cooling mattress-Gel mattresses are popular due to their cooling properties. They provide the feeling of floating on top of your mattress rather than sinking into it. When you combine the qualities of the cooling gel with the structure of the innerspring mattress of the pocket coils then it’s known to be a match made in heaven.

Pocket sprung latex mattress and inner sprung latex mattress-These mattresses are known to be breathable and sturdy, they are also on the cheaper side. They are also more springier than the memory foam mattress and don’t make you feel as if you are sinking into the mattress.
