It is important to store your mattress right if you want your mattress to last a long time even if it is not in use. By storing the mattress correctly, you will be able to prolong the life of the mattress and keep the mattress clean.
By wrapping your mattress in plastic, you are preventing dust from settling on your mattress, you are also preventing any bed bugs from getting in and infesting your twin mattress. You are also preventing any tearing of the material and any fraying, by doing this you are extending the life span of the mattress.
You shouldn’t store your mattress upright for a long period of time, instead, you should lay it flat, if you store your mattress to the side, you will be at risk of damaging the materials inside the mattress. Making the mattress weak and lowering the lifespan of the mattress.
It isn't good to store your mattress in a dark and damp place such as a basement or a garage as it isn't productive, it would be difficult to move around, it may become damaged, and the fabric may become weak and rip easily. The mattress may even become filled with mould inside and you won't be able to tell if the mattress has been damaged.
