How to wake up without an alarm.

How to wake up without an alarm.

There are some seasons where it is easier to wake up in the morning, which would mean that it would be hard for some to wake up without an alarm. During the spring and summer, it is easier to wake up without an alarm because it naturally gets lighters as the sun comes out earlier during those seasons and it comes out later during the winter and autumn.

Most people have to get up early whether that be for work or for school, and most people use alarm clocks to wake up but if you have to use an alarm clock to wake up for your day it is very likely that you aren't getting enough sleep. Since, if you were you wouldn’t have to use an alarm clock to wake up, your body would have already been in a routine where you wake up at an early hour once you have had enough sleep, this is called a circadian cycle.

If you are woken up by an alarm clock that has a soothing sound then your body can be put into a state of ease and comfort, however, if you are woken up by a startling sound such as the sounds that come out of the alarm clocks that are brought with loud ringing noises then your body can be put in a state of fight or flight which is a stressful way to be woken up. Here are some tips that you can try to incorporate into your day that may make it easier for you to wake up without an alarm.

Simulate your brain

A fast way to get your brain to wake up is to stimulate it, a way to do that is by solving a small puzzle, or by reading a book, anything that will make your brain engage in an activity that alerts it easily.

Use essential oils

Use essential oils that are good for waking up the body, that promote you to engage and concentrate more such as peppermint, stay away from essential oils that promote sleep and drowsiness such as lavender and chamomile.

Use cold water

Once you wake up splashing yourself with cold water or quickly showering with cold water is guaranteed to wake you up.

Go outside

If you go outside and get some sunlight then the production of melatonin will be far lower than if you stayed in a dark room with the curtains drawn, making you less sleepy.

Exercise

In the morning if you are able to exercise then you will be able to wake up faster, than if you were to just stay in bed once you’ve woken up. Exercising in general is great if you want to get your day started or if you want to work out at night time to use up some energy which will mean that you will feel tired faster at night and if you go to sleep earlier then you will wake up earlier

Play music

When you wake up in the morning if you play music that gets you in a hyped-up mood then you will no longer be in a tired sleepy state, as you can't be hyped up if you are tired or sleepy. The music doesn’t have to be an upbeat playlist it can just be music that you like that puts you in a good mood, encouraging you to start your day on a good note.

These are some tips that will help you wake up in the morning and feel more alert in the morning and if you constantly incorporate these into your daily morning routine it will help you get into a routine that makes your morning more enjoyable and making it easier to wake up in the morning. If you do these things when you wake up early in the morning, you'll wake up faster which will mostly mean that you feel tired faster than you normally would, if you wake up early, you'll go to sleep earlier. Therefore, fixing your circadian rhythm and if you fix your circadian rhythm, you no longer will need an alarm to wake up because, you'll wake up early anyway, as your body is in a routine now.
