Is An Innerspring Mattress Better Than Memory Foam?
Is an innerspring mattress better than memory foam?
Both innerspring and memory foam mattresses have great quality, one is not the same as the other and they have different ways of providing comfort.
Memory foam mattresses:
A memory foam mattress is made from different layers of foam that enhance the density. The foam has a quality that allows it to mould to your natural body shape, providing a comforting feeling as well as providing pressure point relief. This is possible as memory foam is sensitive and reacts to heat.
Memory foam tends to soften up and distribute body weight while sleeping, a memory foam mattress may seem hard and firm at first but over time it softens up making memory foam a good option for relieving back and joint pains. It is great for those who sleep on their backs and sides. Memory foam improves spine alignment and helps with lower back support.
Innerspring mattresses:
Innerspring mattresses are stuffed with materials such as cotton and wool, these materials help provide comfort. There is also a coil layer that helps with support. The basic layers of a innerspring mattress are foam and spring. There may also be other materials such as latex, memory foam and gel layer to help provide more comfort.
Innerspring mattresses are beneficial as they are sturdy and offer more support. They are great for side sleeper’s and light weight sleeper’s. They are more bouncy compared to memory foam mattresses, and they are great for air flow making them great at regulating temperature. Innerspring mattresses are usually more affordable than memory foam mattresses.
