Purple Mattress versus Casper Mattress
Casper mattresses and Purple Mattresses are two of the most well-known in-a-box mattress companies. They are best known for their all-foam leading models. However, they both also, produce several hybrid models too. The Casper is the company’s prize model, and the Casper Element is a budget-friendly option.
The Casper Hybrid, the Casper Wave Hybrid, and the Casper Nova Hybrid use many of the same raw materials as their all-foam equivalents with the addition of pocketed coil systems.
Both Casper mattresses and purple mattresses have a range of options which can suit your needs. Casper produces five unique models which come in three different height ranges, great for individuals with long legs.
Purple produces four different models in four different heights. The height options are ranged from average to high profile. Casper and Purple mattresses are both different in weight. Almost all of Purple’s mattresses weigh more in comparison to Casper.
Sizing differentiates between the two brands. Casper has twin sizes for all their models, but Purple only produces twin mattresses for their purple mattresses.
Casper and Purple both offer all-foam and hybrid mattresses, but their comfort layer construction differs. Casper features comfort layers made of polyfoam and memory foam. However, Purple use a proprietary hyper-elastic polymer grid.
Casper Original
The top of Casper’s mattress cover is made with a blend of polyester, upcycled cotton, rayon, Lycra, and recycled polyester from up to 45 bottles per mattress. The cover can be removed and cleaned by hand with mild laundry detergent.
Casper recommends using chilly water and air-drying the cover since the heat could cause shrinkage in size.
The comfort layer is constructed of two layers: a 1.5-inch layer of open-cell polyfoam and a 2-inch layer of zoned memory foam. The open cell configuration of the polyfoam coating allows enough air transmission for heat to diffuse significantly more than many all-foam models. The memory foam layer hugs the sleeper’s body to alleviate pressure points. The support layer uses 7 inches of polyfoam to alleviate the surface of the mattress and provide even support.
Casper Hybrid
Apart from the support layer, the Casper Hybrid’s mattress structure is nearly equal to the Casper Original mattress. Like the Casper Original, the Casper Hybrid uses a cover with a polyester blend that includes recycled cotton and material from recycled bottles.
The Casper Hybrid mattress also shares the same luxury system with a 1.5-inch layer of open-cell polyfoam and a 2-inch tier of partitioned memory foam, which prevents sleepers from sinking in too intensely while providing extra support around the hips.
The Casper Hybrid’s mattress’s main difference is its support system. Instead of using polyfoam, the Casper Hybrid mattress uses a 6-inch layer of pocketed coils surrounded by a 7-inch polyfoam encasement, giving the mattress extra edge support.
Apart from the support layer, the Casper Hybrid’s construction is nearly identical to that of the Casper Original.

Purple Mattress
The Purple Mattress uses a covering made of viscose and Lycra. This cover of the mattress is flexible so that it can move with the relaxation layer. The material of the mattress is also, breathable to allow air distribution into the inside of the mattress.
A 2-inch-thick layer of Purple’s mattress exclusive Purple Grid acts as the comfort layer. This material uses a hyper-elastic polymer built in a grid pattern. When pressure is removed, the edges spring back into position. This grid pattern also allows heat to dissolve.
