Bed bugs are a common household pest in the UK, and they feed on human blood. They live for 4-6 months and can go a long time without food, making them very hard to get rid of.

Even the cleanest homes you can still get bed bugs. You can get bed bugs from just about any public place, including:

What is a bed bug? 

Bed bugs are insects that feed on humans while they are sleeping. Bed bugs feed only on blood and must have blood meals to survive and develop.

  • Spots and stains on your mattress 
  • A musty odour 
  • Bites on your skin 
  • Clean your bedding and vacuum regularly 

Can you see a bed bug?

Bedbugs are very small. They are visible to the naked eye but that only depends on how good your eyesight is.
