Who Do Bed Bugs Prefer?

Bed bugs are small insects, flightless in nature and featuring flattened bodies. They usually appear in murky brown to reddish shades, though they can become bloated and a more clear red upon feeding.

Not unlike mosquitos, Bed bugs require blood and a consistent blood host to sustain themselves and continue their life cycles. They hide out during daylight hours, typically in shady areas like within furniture or places you keep clothes. In the twilight hours of the early morning they emerge during your sleep to feed on exposed patches of skin.

Bed bugs aren’t picky about who they pick as their host, but upon feeding once they possess a tendency to prefer the blood-type they’ve become accustomed too. An example being, a bed bug that’s been feeding on AB+ for most of their life will actively seek out and prefer that blood type over most others. But as stated prior, up until this point they’re indifferent on who they feed upon.
