Why Buy a Bed Frame?

A bed frame is necessary if you want to feel supported at night while you sleep. While bed frames can be pricey and bulky depending on the one you buy, they can support your box spring or foundation for years to come. Regardless of if you have a memory foam mattress, hybrid mattress, or innerspring mattress, a bed frame will b increase its lifespan and create a healthier and cleaner sleeping environment.

You may not see the need for a bed frame in the slightest, and simply consider placing it on the ground as a tactic to save money, there is a problem with this. Placing your mattress on the floor can result in a firmer feel (compared to sprung slats, for example). Extra-firm support does not work for everyone and can result in sharp pressure points and pain (especially if the mattress is quite firm on its own). In this case, it might be a good idea to use a slatted bed frame that can deliver bouncy support and, thus, might make the mattress feel a bit softer.

Additionally, mattresses placed on the floor are hard to get out of. Moreover, such proximity to the ground can also cause sleepers to feel cold during the night. And of course there’s the obvious, moisture may start building up inside when the mattress is not elevated (due to the lack of air circulation underneath it), inviting dust mites and mold. Naturally, this can lead to allergic reactions and, thus, a lower sleep quality.
