Do You Toss And Turn At Night? Why Is That?

Do You Toss And Turn At Night? Why Is That?

There are many different reasons that could cause one to toss and turn, something that will help stop you from tossing and turning at night when you are still to sleep is finding out what the root cause is and tackling the problem from the root instead of the stem.

Typically tossing and turning can be caused by factors such as environmental factors or mental health reasons, if you are able to narrow it down to cause finding a solution will become so much easier. Unfortunately, life comes with many worries, some you can help whilst others you cannot, this usually causes a lot of people to suffer from anxiety, the uncertainty of how things are going to play out or thinking about how you're going to complete something on time with so much on your plate, it takes a toll on your and ultimately your sleep too, the uncertainty of the future is very worrying and can stress someone out a lot.

Factors that may be a contributing factor to your anxiety:

  • Change of environment: Whether you’re embarking on moving out of a place that you’ve lived in for years to a new city, or shifting your workplace to an entirely new neighbourhood, it can be very scary the uncertainty of how well you will adapt or just the moving in general can be very scary for someone which can cause them a lot of stress and anxiety therefore possibly causing someone to toss and turn while sleeping.
  • Stress: stress can be cause by a lot of things and an effect of dealing with stress is that you are unable to sleep as well as you would have had you not been stressed out, the more your brain is overthinking and stressing out the less likely you are to sleep well thus potentially causing you to toss and turn while sleeping.
  • Caffeine: as we all know caffeine is used to keep you awake so consuming caffeine hours before you bed time can cause you to stay up thus having tossing and turning trying to find a good position to fall asleep in.
