How can bed bugs come into the home?

Bed Bugs are small, flat, wingless insects with six legs that, just like mosquitoes, feed on blood from animals or people. They’re quite the pests, spreading easily and causing endless problems for anyone plagued with them.

They can find their way into your home through a plethora of methods. Multi-unit buildings, such as apartments, can pass infestations on to one another as bed bugs move throughout the building. Though this isn’t the only way they can spread. Spending time on or around bed bug infested furniture can cause a few to be latched to you, leaping off when you return home and spreading.

They usually hitch rides on luggage, purses, bags or other items left unattended around infested furniture. To prevent bed bugs from getting that free ride at all, when staying at hotels or just in new places in general, keep your bags/luggage off of beds or the floor and perform thorough checks before leaving. It’s that simple to save yourself the headache that are bed bugs.
