Is a Bed Frame Necessary For Your Mattress?

The purpose of a bed frame is to provide your mattress the support that it may need to better support you. If you have a mattress that is a great mattress for you but you don’t have a bed frame that is made to support that mattress then the benefits that are offered to you through the mattress may be cut short. Although, not all mattresses need a bed frame to support them, some mattresses do fine without a bed frame, with the support of the floor being enough for it.

There are several reasons to use a bed frame:

  • If you sleep on a bed frame then you can by a bed frame that offers you additional space for storage, these types of bed frames are called ottomans beds, storage beds or sometimes they may be called something else depending on its type. You can get storage beds that come with draws one the side of the bed where you can store things or you can get bed frames where you are able to lift the bed up and store things inside the actual bed frame.
  • Having a bed frame depending on your aesthetic and vibe can make your bedroom look nicer and more put together.
  • Having a bed frame helps with temperature control, having your mattress placed onto of a bed frame allows for the air to circulate through the mattress through the bed frame, which means that having a bed frame means that you would have a cooler mattress.

Although there are some great reasons for you to have a bed frame it isn't exactly necessary, of course if you want a bedroom that gives of a modern minimalistic look, where you have a lot of plants and you currently have a bed frame but aren’t entirely too content with how the bed frame makes the room look and would rather have your mattress placed on the floor to complete the look, then you can do so. Bed frames are usually used for the benefits that it offers and to provide a mattress with extra support however, it is not necessary to use or have a bed frame so, if you want to have a mattress without a bed frame it's okay to do so, as it will not dramatically change anything.
