Purple Mattress Versus Tempur-Pedic

Purple Mattress versus Tempur-Pedic

Purple Mattresses and Tempur-Pedic mattresses are quite different from one another, and each version from these brands has individual pros and cons for sleepers.

Since its top mattress launched in 2015, Purple Mattresses have gained special fame for its Purple Grid, a protective comfort layer made of hyper-elastic polymer shaped into a grid shape. Purple’s mattresses have two additional models – the Purple Hybrid and Purple Hybrid Premier, and they also feature the Purple Grid too.

Tempur-Pedic currently offers three mattresses that are available as all-foam or hybrid beds: the TEMPUR-Adapt, TEMPUR-Pro Adapt, and TEMPUR-PRO breeze. A fourth model, the TEMPUR-Luxe Adapt, is entirely an all-foam mattress.

Purple mattress vs Tempur-Pedic feel

The Purple mattress uses its new hyper-elastic polymer gel grid that gives the bed a soft but firm feel. The gel grid is triggered at a certain pressure, and it then offers tension relief. On other parts, it remains upright for support. It is very responsive and gives a springy feel, so moving on the purple bed is straightforward.

The Purple mattress presents the right level of contouring and tension relief. However, the Tempur-Pedic mattress is a bit of a gentler process. It has a slower response to pressure.

Purple Mattress vs Tempur-Pedic Mattress: Structure

The construction and layers are important to know if you are going mattress shopping. Since each layer of the mattress has a use, you might want a specific layer to be firm or delicate, or maybe you might want an extra layer or a memory foam layer in your mattress.

This segment will review the construction of both mattresses in detail:

Cover

First comes the cover. The Purple mattress has a Soft Flex cover that wraps around the whole bed. It is super soft, breathable, comfortable and much flexible as well. The cover permits the purple’s mattress gel to move quickly. Although, the Tempur-Pedic mattress, uses a 360-degree breathable cover, which is incredibly soft and allows air to pass and heat to disintegrate.

Comfort Layers

The Purple mattress consists of two inches exclusive purple grid. It is made from the advanced hyper-elastic polymer gel that makes the mattress bubbly and firm. When it gets triggered, the tension points are tended to. The thick foam encasement wraps the top layer which improves the edge support. The foam shift layer under the grid also provides support to the sleepers.

Tempur-Pedic’s comfort layer is called the Tempur Comfort layer. It is made using a new fabric called Tempur, which has the characteristics of being soft. The Tempur comfort layer reduces pressure at the pressure points and works magically to support the sleepers. The layer also consists of a Tempur Support transition layer under the mattress that enhances the support system of the mattress.

Support Layer

There is a base layer under the Purple’s foam conversion layer. It is extremely firm and adds the assistance that your body needs. Although, due to this layer, you do not get the completely sinking feeling as you lay on the purple bed.

The Tempur-Pedic mattress uses a high-intensity foam layer as the base layer. It increases the resilience of the bed and enhances its overall structure.

Similarities Between the Purple and Tempur-Pedic mattress

Similarities in Purple Mattress and Tempur-Pedic mattresses may leave you a bit shocked. Although both brands are different and cater to a range of people’s needs, there are still some similarities between the two mattresses.

Both are known names and produce quality mattresses

Both businesses have various models of mattresses made up of diverse types and materials

Both corporations offer exceptional customer service and support

Both Purple and Tempur use a firm foam base in their beds to enhance support and ease

Both businesses provide benefits of comfort and support for back sleepers

Purple and Tempur-Pedic mattresses' firmness

Both Purple and Tempur mattresses are medium-firm.

However, the purple mattress is somewhat firmer than the Tempur-Pedic mattress. On average, the purple mattress can be mounted to a 6.5/10 mattress firm score, while the Tempur-Pedic scores 6/10 on the mattress firm scale.

However, the firmness depends upon the type of sleeper and the position they sleep as well as the sleeper’s weight too. If the sleeper is heavy, they might prefer a firmer mattress. In comparison, softer mattresses are more suitable for lightweight people as they will not drop into the mattresses.
