What is a Hybrid Mattress?

A hybrid mattress is a multi-layer bed that offers a combination of memory foam, latex, or even gel along with an internal set of springs. Users of a hybrid mattress often experience both the wonderful pressure relief the foam layers provide and the reliable feel of a proper spring mattress.

Hybrid mattresses differ from regular, or innerspring, mattresses because while hybrid and innerspring mattresses both share a coil system for the base, hybrid mattresses combine layers of foam for comfort whereas innerspring mattresses have a thin layer of cushioned material.

Whilst most memory foam mattresses are softer, more cloud-like with a large amount of sinkage, or a sinking feeling when in use. Hybrid mattresses tend to walk the line between firmness and softness, a combination of the positive traits provided by both innerspring and memory foam mattresses.
