Yes, a hybrid mattress is a good buy. This is due to the high quality of comfort and support that a hybrid mattress gives to the person sleeping on the mattress. When comparing a hybrid mattress to other types of mattresses, an all-foam mattress is extremely soft so the mattress will feel nice but will lack any support for the rest of your body. An inner-spring mattress has very good support on your back, but once the spring loose tension and flexibility the mattress will start to sag in the middle, and it will not be a good experience on the mattress. Moreover, there will be the odd few times that the spring themselves may pierce through the mattress harming the person on the mattress while they sleep. With a hybrid mattress it will cover for most of the negatives of both the all-foam mattress and the inner-spring mattress.
No, hybrid mattresses are not designed to be flipped over. This is because the mattress has the support and comfort on one side of the mattress and the other side is designed to make sure the mattress does not break and lasts for as long as possible. Flipping over the mattress will not help get the original comfort of a hybrid mattress because the 2 sides are not the same to begin with so, if anything you will end up with a worse experience then when you were sleeping on the original side that the hybrid mattress was meant to be slept on.
A hybrid mattress should be rotated every 3 to 6 months. This to make sure that the tension in the springs does not loosen up so the hybrid mattress does not sag on the sides or on the middle. This is also done to make sure that the mattress does not become uneven and it gives the mattress springs to rise back up so the springs do not break afterwards.
